Welcome!

“How about ‘We’re in London’?” I suggested during a brainstorming session for our new travel blog’s name.

“Your face is in London,” responded my 11-year-old brother.

“OK,” said Shann and I.

And that’s basically how we decided where your faces would be—in London, with Shann and me, as we embark on this three-month European adventure. Personally, I’m not quite sure how Shann and I moved from second graders playing Mousey Detectives on Barwick Playground to college study abroad students romping the streets of London. None of this was quite engineered. Shann goes to Parsons School of Design in NYC; I’m at Northwestern, just outside of Chicago. We decided separately to go, but somehow we ended up in the same city, some 7200 miles from home. Shann’s doing her design stuff at Central St. Martin's College of Art & Design. Meanwhile I’m tucking away Medill journalism stuff to lavish my attention on literature and history at Queen Mary College.

So you’re not small enough to curl into a suitcase—that’s OK. Shann and I will take you along anyway! Just follow our blog. Between the two of us, we'll update as often as we can. If the blog goes according to plan (and these are wild things, blogs), you’ll find funny stories, pictures, experiences, observations, conversations, records of what we’ve eaten--maybe even a haiku or two, if you're lucky. And it’s all to strike your fancies.

So, see the world through our eyes, walk a bit in our shoes, switch hats for a while—put your face in London. Welcome!

Our faces are not in London...yet.
